Lexic

Live

A Scrabble-inspired word game where every tile counts down — play fast or lose your letters.

Lexic is a browser-based word game with a decay mechanic at its core. Every tile on your rack counts down each turn, forcing fast decisions. A seeded daily challenge ensures every player faces the same puzzle.

Mechanics that create tension

Every system in Lexic is designed to keep you making fast, meaningful decisions — from the ticking tiles on your rack to the cracking cells on the board.

Tile Decay

Every tile on your rack counts down each turn. Use your letters before they expire or lose them forever — no time to hesitate.

Daily Challenge

A seeded puzzle generated using a custom Mulberry32 PRNG. Every player faces the same board each day, making scores directly comparable.

Client-Side Validation

Word validation runs entirely in the browser against the TWL06 tournament word list. No server round-trips, no latency — instant feedback.

Deep Scoring

Cell bonuses (2x/3x letter and word multipliers), length bonuses for 5+ letter words, cross-word scoring, and a streak multiplier for consecutive plays.

Hazard Cells

Every 5 turns, cracked cells appear near existing tiles, progressively eating up board space and forcing you to adapt your strategy.

Emoji Share

Deterministic seeding means identical boards for all players. Share your game-over results as emoji grids and compare strategies with friends.

Three principles, one game

Lexic is built around three ideas that shape every mechanic.

1

Speed over safety

The decay mechanic punishes overthinking. Every turn is a trade-off between the perfect word and the letters you're about to lose.

2

Fair by design

Seeded randomness means every player gets the same board, the same bonus cells, and the same hazards. Skill decides the score.

3

Play anywhere

Runs entirely in the browser with no install required. Phaser 3 canvas rendering with touch support makes it work on desktop and mobile.
